Liberty as scientific discourse is intensively discussed in theology and philosophy field. There are two main ideas talking about liberty. The first one believes that human destiny has been determined before we are born. In islamic theology, known as Jabariyah. While, in west theology known as fatalism or predestination. The second one believes that human has liberty, though limited to human capabilities and desires. They believes that human has the rights to be free will and free act. In Islam known as Qadariah.

It will be much complex if we discuss about liberty’s values. With the liberty, human will be free from every kind of coercion, slavery, authoritarian, dictatorship, colonialism, and more. Moreover, the liberty gives human a chance to be a leader among the other species. While at the same time, human becomes a servant of Allah.

The basic idea of liberty in Islam is faith. It means liberty is one of the favor that Allah gives to his servant. So, liberty is fundamental rights for every human. There is no different between every human, race, or nation. Allah sees that all human are same except their faith.

The liberty in Islam doesn’t mean we can do as freely as possible. But, it means the freedom which is bounded by the Islamic values. Islam ensures the liberty which is free from arrogance and lust.

In conclusion, Islam admits and preserves the liberty of all human because they have dignity and thinking ability which is other creatures do not have.
